Ingrediants for Chole Bhature

  • 0.58 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 0.58 dried bay leaf
  • 2.92 cardamom pods
  • 2.33 cloves
  • 0.29- inch piece of cinnamon
  • 1.17 tsp cumin seeds
  • 0.58 large red onion (finely diced)
  • 1.17 heaping tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1.75 medium tomatoes (finely chopped)
  • 0.29 tsp turmeric
  • 0.29 tsp cayenne (or any powdered red chili pepper)
  • 2.33 cups chickpeas (use canned or cook them yourself. If you cook them, make sure they are very tender)
  • Salt to taste
  • 1.17 tbsp chana masala spice mix
  • Juice of 1 lemon or lime
  • Coriander or cilantro for garnish (optional)

And For Bhature

  • 1.17 cups unbleached all purpose flour
  • 0.58 tsp vegetable oil
  • 0.29 cup vegan yogurt
  • 0.58 tsp sugar
  • Salt for taste
  • Oil for deep frying

Instructions for Chola Bhature

Make Bhatura mixture:

Spot all the fixings, except the water in the food processor, a bowl of a stand blender, or, if pressed by hand, in a huge bowl.

Sprinkle in water and massage until you have a versatile but firm batter. Place it in an impermeable holder and keep it in a safe place while making chana masala.

  Make chola Masala:
